Creature Sanctuary

The moment you step foot into the high weeds surrounding the pond, you are attacked with a great number of bugs. "Ick!" you screech, swatting at the pesky little creatures swarming about your head. Selakity, on the other hand, seems not to notice one bit, and you realize this is because he's too busy eating the little pests! You eye him strangly and continue to walk on.

"I like the pond," he tells you after getting a mouthfull of flies, "don't you?" You shake your head at him and make your way toward the simmering water you can just faintly see ahead. As you push the weeds aside, the annoying bugs seem to part as well, leaving you plenty of time to admire the beauty of the still water with the songs of a dozen frogs echoing off of each other. A ripple pulls you attention to the opposite side of the pont, and standing kneedeep in the water is a fishy looking guardian, smiling in your direction. "Look! It's Gatonian, the guardian of this pond! He's lots of fun to play with."

"The creatures are all hiding," the little drake tells you, nestling down on your shoulder, "but I bet if we're really still, they'll come out and let us take a look at them." Now that the bugs are gone, you happily crouch down onto your haunches and wait, wanting to see what the pond holds. Within a few seconds, a very large, winged dragon steps through the weeds and jumps into the water, either unaware of you or sure that you aren't a threat. The little grey drake whispers in your ear, "That's a Claymillion. They're very rare in this area, so I'm surprised we got to see one!"

Next come the dragonflies, sparkling and shimmering in the sunlight like a handful of winged gems. They flutter carelessly here and there, stopping only to drench their wings in the warm sunlight now and again. A dark blue and black dragonfly hovers close to your face, peering into your eyes curiously, and giving you the chance to see its bright, bluegreen eyes.

A line of strange looking creatures makes its way to the pond from the sky, landing on the water the way ducks might. They float and bob on the water's surface, reminding you of strange and adorable marshmallows. Selakity bursts out in a chirping giggle, disturbing and scaring away all the creatures in the pond. "I can't help it," he explains, "the Faepuffs were so cute!"

Before you turn to leave, you notice a small movement out of the corner of your eye. You search for whatever made it, and realize a Digeral is stretched out along the water's edge, its colors making it blend in so well that you hardly noticed it.
