Creature Sanctuary

You follow the drake onto a wide, open beach of the whitest sang, looking like a million billion tiny crystals gleaming in the soft sunlight. The ocean waters roll in and out, caressing the shimmering sands ever so soothingly. You look about you, but there doesn't seem to be any life on this desert of timeless beauty, and may never have been. "Don't worry, traveller," Selakity tells you in a hushed voice, as if reading your mind, " The creatures will show themselves soon."

A few steps closers, it seems, and the drake's prediction comes true. Out of the gently rolling water, you see a figure pull itself onto the sand, resting itself on its elbows. "That," he tells you, "is the guardian Sharky. She might look scary, but don't worry. She's really nice. She even gives me fish when I visit her!" You look back to the fish like guardian, and return her smile.

You begin to stroll aimlessly down the long, white beach, letting your gaze wash over the seemingly endless ocean. Not far in the distance, a little creature holding a ball of emerald or peridot pops out of the water and smiles at you, , then dives back under as fast as it appeared. "That was a mercritter," Selakity tells you from behind. "They're very adventurous creatures and love to find underwater treasure. Pirates used to tell stores about them and how, if you managed to catch one, they would take you to their horde."

"Wait! There's one more I want you to meet!" The drake yells, swooping in beside you and landing on the sand below. He grins up playfully to you before dunking his long tail into the ocean water. All of a sudden, a beautiful blue water drake flies out from the surface and lands beside you. "This is my good friend! He is a jayin, a water drake! They are very playful creatures, yes! And they love to surprise passers by." He snickers with his water friend, then waves good bye before the creature wiggles back into the waves.

Suddenly, a black and white creature swoops out of the sky and takes its place on your other shoulder, as if you are nothing more than a statue or a tree. The drake giggles to itself as you stop, slightly shocked, by this new visiter. "Those Digerals," whispers the drake, "they think they own the whole world!" Before you get a chance to reply, the creature flies away again.

The small drake sighs heavily, swooping back down to your shoulder. "I do wish I could spend all day here, but let's keep going. We still have so much to see!"
