Creature Sanctuary

You enter the dark reaches of the forest, just beyond the garden limits. Streams of light flow through the tree tops, catching small patches of the ground below as they fall. Selakity croons and hides in your hair as you walk on, further into the darkened, clustered trees. "The forst can be a scary place sometimes." he says, and hides more in your hair.

As you go further, a tall rabbit guardian watches your every move like a preditor, but his cool green eyes show only gentleness. "That is Nantatake, the forest guardian. He is a skilled guardian, but he won't harm anyone unless they're doing something bad to the creatures." the little drake says.

You stop for a moment to look upon the huge, tall trees that are growing just ahead. They're spaced much further apart than the younger trees before, you think. "There are many creatures living here in the forests. A few of them will show themselves to you." the drake says, pointing toward the open spaces of the forest.

"These are the drakes!" he says excitedly. Looking at the tiny creatures more closely, you notice they are the same type of drake as Selakity is.

Just beyond the little drakes, a strange animal stands upright, and looks at you with its deep, blue eyes. "That's a Spikey Dragon Cat, or a spike cat. You are very lucky to see it traveler, as they almost never show themselves to those they don't know!"

Soft cheeping turns your attention from the dragon and to a small group of critters playing inside a pool of light streaming from the leafy canopy. "Those are flagoos! They are very playful creatures, and very colorful too."

"Oh!" exclaims the drake, pointing beyond the flagoos to a pretty green and brown creature, looking straight at you. "That's a Digeral! They live all over the world, you know. But they never look the same. In every part of the world they live, their colors and patterns change! You should keep a look out for them!"

As you look on, a few more mysterious creatures elude your vision, and run back into the dense forest. "They will come back later traveler, I'm sure." the little drake says.
